· Construction Project Coordinator
The role:
Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible to support other project team members of the Engineering Department of the region to ensure various projects are delivered on time or ahead of the planned schedule.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Provide assistance to Project Manager in the coordination, scheduling, reporting and quality control functions
2. Supervise on-site construction progress, and minimize foreseeable circumstances leading to project delay
3. Assist the Project Manager in monitoring project progress on a regular basis, ensure various projects are on schedules, and provide schedule updates if circumstances arise
4. Interpret and read technical drawings, drawing records, subsequent revisions…etc.
5. Maintain all project-related documentation, this includes but is not limited to records of all testing and inspections, licensing and permit requirements
6. Maintain regular communication with relevant internal and external stakeholders
7. Perform any other duties assigned by the superior(s)
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
1. Possess at least 3-5 years of construction experience
2. Able to interpret and read blueprints and other technical documents
3. Possessing mechanical and electrical knowledge is an asset but is not a must
4. Ability to operate CAD design software is a must and is proficient in Microsoft Office programs
5. Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience with a good understanding and logical sense of engineering practices
6. Good knowledge of project management, including cost control, scheduling, standards, corporate policies and procedures
7. Have a high level of integrity and work ethic; able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset
9. Possess a valid 5 driver’s license
10. Ability to travel as required
11. Familiar with local stipulations and legal compliance
